Average Fuel Price Calculator

Average price per liter: 8.99 PLN/l

What these numbers mean
  • Result for the settings above: 8.99 PLN/l. It updates as soon as any field changes.

The numbers come from the formula and the values you typed above. They are not a forecast — no calculator changes the probability of a single draw.

How to use this page
  1. Fill in the fields in the form above — the result recomputes at once, with no page reload.
  2. Under the result you will find the interpretation scale, if the calculator has one: it says which range your value fell into.
  3. The formula we use is shown lower on this page — you can check the arithmetic yourself.
  4. To compute the same for another game or variant, change it in the select field — prices and pools update automatically.

What this page does not do: It does not point to numbers to play and does not predict a draw — every draw is independent of the previous ones.

What you see on the pylon and what a liter of fuel really costs you are two different numbers. You buy fuel once by the highway, once in the city, and the difference between a highway station and a neighborhood one in Poland reaches even 60 cents per liter. This calculator computes a simple arithmetic average from your last three fill-ups — it sums the entered values and divides by three.

For instance, at prices of 8.79, 8.99 and 9.19 PLN the sum is 26.97 PLN, and the average is 8.99 PLN per liter. A driver covering 15,000 km a year at 7 l/100 km consumption would use 1050 liters, costing 9439.50 PLN a year. Dropping the average by 20 cents leaves 210 PLN in your pocket. That's not much on a single fill-up, but it adds up over twelve months.

This method has one drawback: it doesn't weight prices by the number of liters. With 10 liters at 6.80 PLN and two fill-ups of 50 liters at 6.10 PLN, the arithmetic average gives 6.33 PLN, but the real cost per liter is 6.16 PLN. A better tool here is a weighted average, where the weight is the number of liters.

A liter's price isn't just the cost of the raw material. As of January 2026: excise duty on motor petrol is 1529 PLN per 1000 liters, on diesel 1160 PLN per 1000 liters, plus a fuel fee and an emission fee, and the whole amount is subject to 23 percent VAT. Taxes therefore make up roughly half of what you pay at the pump. Check the current rates before basing a financial decision on this calculation.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate the average fuel price from three fill-ups?

Add the three prices per liter and divide the sum by three. For 8.79 PLN, 8.99 PLN and 9.19 PLN the sum is 26.97 PLN, so the average is 8.99 PLN per liter. Note that you're averaging unit prices, not the amounts paid at the register.

What's the difference between the arithmetic average and the weighted average fuel price?

The arithmetic average treats each fill-up equally, the weighted average accounts for the number of liters. With 10 liters at 6.80 PLN and two fill-ups of 50 liters at 6.10 PLN, the arithmetic average is 6.33 PLN, while the weighted average is 6.16 PLN. The 17-cent difference comes from the expensive fill-up being five times smaller.

How much tax is included in the price of a liter of petrol in Poland?

About half. As of January 1, 2026, excise duty on motor petrol is 1529 PLN per 1000 liters, i.e. 1.53 PLN per liter, plus a fuel fee, an emission fee, and 23 percent VAT calculated on the total. Excise rates change by regulation, so check the current values before calculating.

How much can I save by filling up 20 cents cheaper?

With an annual mileage of 15,000 km and consumption of 7 l/100 km you use 1050 liters, so a 20-cent difference gives 210 PLN a year. With a mileage of 30,000 km and consumption of 9 l/100 km that's already 2700 liters, i.e. 540 PLN a year.
