From what amount do you have to go to a branch?

Wins up to PLN 2,280 are paid out at an outlet, though a single point of sale may be limited by its current cash on hand and, for a few thousand zloty, may ask you to come back the next day. Above PLN 2,280, payment is handled only by a Totalizator Sportowy branch. For wins running into hundreds of thousands of zloty, call ahead and arrange an appointment — the branch will prepare the paperwork and the visit will take a few minutes instead of a few hours.

What should you bring to claim a win?

The original, undamaged ticket or a confirmation of the bet from a Lotto account, and a photo ID document — an identity card or passport. If you want the payout by transfer, bring your bank account number. A ticket is a bearer document: whoever holds it collects the win. A photo, a scan or a copy have no value at all, and a torn or washed ticket may be rejected.

How much time do you have to claim a win?

Three years from the draw date. After that the claim to payment expires, the ticket becomes invalid, and the money goes to the prize fund. The deadline is fixed and does not depend on the reason for the delay — illness, travel or a lost ticket do not extend it.

How does the tax on winnings work?

Wins up to PLN 2,280 are tax-exempt. Above that amount, a flat 10% income tax is withheld — on the whole win, not just on the amount above the threshold. The tax is withheld by Totalizator Sportowy at payout, so you receive the amount already net of tax and you do not report it in your annual tax return.

Do you have to go in person?

Yes. A win at a branch is collected in person, with an ID document. Someone else can do it on your behalf only with a power of attorney bearing a notarially certified signature — a plain signed note is not enough. Wins from bets placed through a Lotto account are credited to the player's account automatically, without a branch visit.

How a branch differs from an outlet

An outlet is a point where you buy a ticket — there are several thousand of them in Poland. A branch is a Totalizator Sportowy office, one per region, and that's where large wins are paid out and formal matters are handled. Branches work office hours, on weekdays — they are closed on Saturday and Sunday, even if the draw took place on Saturday evening.

Before you set off

The hours given on this page come from the Totalizator Sportowy website and may change without notice. If you're traveling from another city, call ahead — the phone number is listed next to each branch. One phone call instead of a two-hundred-kilometer round trip for nothing.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I claim a Lotto win?

Wins up to PLN 2,280 are paid out at the outlet where you bought the ticket. Above that amount you need to go to a Totalizator Sportowy branch — the full list of addresses with opening hours is on this page.

How much time do I have to claim a win?

Three years from the draw date. After that the claim expires and the win is forfeited to the prize fund.

What is the tax on a Lotto win?

Wins up to PLN 2,280 are tax-free. Above that amount a flat 10% tax is withheld on the whole win, deducted at payout by Totalizator Sportowy.

Can I claim a win on someone else's behalf?

Only with a power of attorney bearing a notarially certified signature. Without it, the branch will not pay the money to a third person, even a family member.

Are branches open on weekends?

No. Totalizator Sportowy branches work on weekdays, during office hours. Exact hours for each branch are listed next to its address.

What should I do if I lose my ticket?

A ticket is a bearer document and cannot be replaced — without it you cannot claim the win. The exception is bets placed through a Lotto account, where the confirmation is stored in the system and the win is credited to the player's account.
